Leave My Dreams Alone

From the poet:
“Besides work, I have been down lately due to ‘being unlucky in love’. This poem is dedicated to a man I was very much in love with but who just failed to see of what value that was.”

Leave My Dreams Alone

 by F. Myzura

If only there was heaven on earth
and stars that lead the way
I know that pain is a distance
and grant me happiness to stay
I gave my heart unwillingly
to thee I did not seek
Not
to be trampled on
not to be ridiculed
and put aside
as minor to your heart
And glorious dreams
of spoken love
not to be mislead upon
But if you see me
as only an ache
that gives you much discomfort
then
fade away
No need to stay.
And leave my dreams unshattered.
